The Health and Safety Offences Act 2008 came into force last month making it easier to enforce the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Penalties have been raised from a maximum of \u00a35,000 to \u00a320,000.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Increased emphasis on corporate responsibility stresses the need for commercial vehicle owners to carefully manage the safety checks of their vehicles.
