Every organisation understands the importance of giving health and safety issues essential consideration. However in a busy work environment a large proportion of companies don’t get round to\u00a0doing everything they should to avoid committing offences under the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007.<\/p>\n

However firms should not be complacent. The Act has just seen it’s first charge in April of this year, with a company director being charged with manslaughter after not taking due care. If a company is to prove they are not guilty in a manslaughter case, they need to be able to demonstrate<\/p>\n

* they have done everything possible to safe keep their workforce
\n* health and safety policy has been communicated to all employees\u00a0who drive on company business<\/p>\n
