{"id":888,"date":"2012-11-13T13:23:23","date_gmt":"2012-11-13T13:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.aideautomotive.com\/?p=888"},"modified":"2012-11-13T13:23:23","modified_gmt":"2012-11-13T13:23:23","slug":"fuel-thieves-target-trucks-parked-in-south-wales-lay-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aideautomotive.com\/articles\/fuel-thieves-target-trucks-parked-in-south-wales-lay-by\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel thieves target trucks parked in South Wales Lay-By"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"justify\">Fuel thieves are targeting trucks parked in lay-bys and on industrial estates in Caerphilly and Blaneau Gwent, South Wales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"justify\">Gwent Police have received 26 reports of <a title=\"Fuel Thefts\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aideautomotive.com\/products\/commercial_vehicle\/anti-syph.php\">fuel thefts<\/a> across the boroughs over the last two months, with the majority of thefts taking place from LGVs parked overnight in lay-bys on the A465\/A40 between Merthyr and Abergavenny.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"justify\">Operators are being advised to remind drivers to lock fuel tanks park in a well-lit area overnight. Police are also advising that fuel tanks are left in view of the road to deter thieves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"justify\">Detective Inspector Matthew Sedgebeer said: ?What is most worrying is some thieves are syphoning from the petrol tank of a lorry while the driver is sleeping in the cab.
