TruckEast’s trailer service division continues to go from strength-to-strength. From pretty much a standing start at the end of 2011, we are currently servicing almost 750 trailers every 6-13 weeks, with 2 new technicians recruited in the last 6 months, and more planned in 2013.
Each of our depots across the Eastern Counties of England offers a full service and maintenance service for all-makes of trailers, backed up with comprehensive stocks of all trailer manufacturer parts available for collection or delivery.
In addition to the depot facilities, many of our customers utilise the on-site trailer service facilities. TruckEast have 8 dedicated service vans, which visit customer premises throughout Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire. Each of these technicians can repair and maintain all-makes of trailer – from a routine service to specialist welding and fabrication.
In a recent investment, two of the service vans are now equipped with the latest diagnostics technology from aide automotive Ltd. TrailerCheck 4 Vans is a “One Man Trailer Service Tool”, which will power a trailer for a full lighting and electrical test, including the ABS warning light and an ISO CAN line test of an EBS trailer. T4V is also able to test the air-brake system and with the Remote Code Talk, the service engineer is able read &clear the trailers ECU of all fault codes. This reduces time on-site and facilitates getting trailers back on the road more efficiently.
In another time-saving initiative, each of our mobile service engineers has been trained to complete both fridge and tail-lift maintenance or repair, in order that this can be done in the same visit.
James Phillips, who heads-up the specialist services division for the company, has been responsible for the recent growth. “We already had a great reputation for providing a fantastic workshop service for HGVs, so with some additional investment in new staff, training and equipment, we have easily been able to transfer our skills into trailer service. By focussing on mobile services, we have been able to offer customers a time-saving and convenient solution for all their trailer problems.”
Where a trailer needs to go into a workshop, any of our twelve depots – from Milton Keynes to Felixstowe – can provide expert service, along with ATF lanes at Wellingborough and Stowmarket.
For major workshop repairs, we can also offer a collection and delivery service. Full or specialist trailer re-furbishment including chassis realignment, paintshop and curtain repair or replacement, is carried out at either of our accident repair centres at Wellingborough and Stowmarket.
