AirAlert a proactive product warning you of low tyre pressure

Checking tyre pressure is crucial for vehicles to run economically and safely and help preserve a tyre’s life. If tyres are over inflated they have to work harder to deal with greater resistance, whereas under inflated tyres can be dangerous.

Already this year there are a number of cases of people being prosecuted for driving without due care and attention because of defective tyres. One woman was sentenced to 7 years after killing a 15 month old child and another 77 year old woman in Bolton was sentenced following a fatal incident, in both cases each vehicle recorded low tyre pressures.

For commercial vehicles the AirAlert could be the difference between a blow out or not, especially on inner axle tyres

Tyresafe, the non-commercial organisation responsible for raising awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres, recommends checking tyre pressures on a monthly basis.

Matthew Burke, Sales Director of aide automotive says “We stock a product called AirAlert, that is proactive rather than reactive, if a tyre loses as low as 4 PSI the AirAlert will flash a distinctive beacon, you dont have to check your tyres pressures at all”.
