First company director to be charged
Every organisation understands the importance of giving health and safety issues essential consideration. However in a busy work environment a large proportion of companies don’t get round to doing everything they should to avoid committing offences under the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007.
However firms should not be complacent. The Act has just seen it’s first charge in April of this year, with a company director being charged with manslaughter after not taking due care.
