More than 500 immediate prohibitions have been issued to commercial vehicles for Spilling Diesel Fuel on the roads since the DVSA began to crack down on the problem last year.

Between 1 September and 31 December 2014, 518 immediate prohibitions were handed out in relation to fuel leaks. Between May and August, before it took a tougher approach to the issue, 75 immediate and 336 delayed prohibitions were issued by the DVSA.
